8/21/15 Kyle Salz

8/21/15

Today when I woke up the first thing that I thought of was. That for the first time I would be leaving the United States. We all got up than went to Hartwick State Park Visitors center. Where we meet Craig and Kenneith. Craig took us all out for a trail interpretation on the old growth white pines that where left behind by loggers. Kenneith showed us some equipment that the loggers used and where they bunked at. They both did very good jobs and I enjoyed listening to them. Then we traveled north to the Mackinaw Mill which is a full functioning logging that is run by water. That was very interesting to see. Finally, what I have been waiting for all day was when we crossed into Canada. The Canadian border was pretty quick to go through which for some reason they let us all through. The scenery driving to our campsite was cool to see as we drove along Lake Superior. Our campsites looks out over the lake. The sun setting was awesome to see from here looking out over the water to the West.
